Korero-Haere ki te hokomaha

This week my class and I went to the shop. We’ve had a lot of practice speaking Maori in class and we prepared ourselves for the day we were going to the supermarket. We were only allowed to speak Te Reo Maori. It was quite easy. I liked going to the supermarket, I enjoyed the whole experience.

He tino ngawari.

Tuhituhi

Kia Ora Koutou, This is my Tuhituhi mahi. I was to say how much the items costs in Te Reo Maori. It was easy for me and I picked up the idea quite fast.

Maths

Kia Ora Koutou, My class and I have been learning the strategy of ‘Rounding and Compensating’ We were given a few math problems to solve by using ‘Rounding and Compensating’ It was quite easy for me.

Here I recorded myself solving a multiplication problem using Rounding and Compensating.

Panui

Kia Ora Koutou, I have written a summary of what the book was about in this post. I recorded myself reading my favorite part of the book and explained why I liked it. I shared a video of my friends and I playing Kaupapa. I wrote down instructions on how to play the game.

Panui

This is Panui mahi. I was to read the book and become familiar with the words and the structure. There were a few words I didn’t quite know. So I learnt those words, found out the meanings, and put them into a sentences. I didn’t manage to finish my mahi. I had to record myself reading the book in Maori and translating it to English.

Ko Panui mahi tenei. Me panui ahau i te pukapuka me te mohio ki nga kupu me te hanganga. He kupu torutoru kaore au i tino mohio.

Haere Ki Te Hokomaha

Next week we are going to the supermarket. We can’t speak any English at all. It’s gonna be a bit tricky for me but I’m excited to participate in this activity. We are going to be divided into groups to go to the supermarket. Each group will have 20 dollars each. We will have a list of things we have to buy. I’m looking forward for this.

Addition and subtraction Math

We had to type our answers into each question in the box provided. If we answer a question correctly, part of the mystery picture will appear. If the answer is wrong, the answer box mystery image won’t appear.

It was a bit difficult for me at first and I got alot of questions wrong. It was a bit disappointing for me and I wasn’t really happy about my score. But now I know what to do to figure my questions out and what I need to do to get my answer. I know how to get my answers now because it is easy.

He uaua ki ahau i te tuatahi, he maha nga patai i he. He ahua pouri ki ahau, kaore au i tino koa mo taku whiwhinga.
